The Opportunity
CMCA-BC is looking for an experienced Training Instructor to join our team in Vancouver, BC. As an Instructor, you will facilitate professional and engaging presentations focused on the masonry trade (such as Try A Trowel events in high schools, a Mason Tender Program that encompasses fall protection, scaffolding, mortars, forklifts, safety, and hand and power tools), for a diverse range of audiences and experience levels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate relevant expertise and in-depth knowledge of instructor and training fundamentals and best practices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As the Training Instructor, your key responsibilities will include:
· Facilitate hands-on equipment training sessions for groups at a variety of experience levels.
· Share expertise on a variety of masonry tools and equipment used in the trade.
· Build strong relationships with stakeholders and ensure their needs are understood and met
· Work closely with the Training Committee to ensure strategies are implemented effectively
· Monitor equipment inventories and report deficiencies to the Association Manager as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
· Ability to prepare courses on masonry. Equipment operation experience for forklifts, scaffolding
· Proven experience providing instruction and facilitating training in a group setting
· A valid driver’s license and a reliable method of transportation, suitable for towing a trailer of masonry supplies.
· Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
· WHMIS certification and Level 1 First Aid certification
· Understanding of BC legislative and regulatory framework relating to OH&S
· Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills
· Self-starter with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
· Energy Safety Canada Instructor Skills Development (ISD) designation or 3M Fall Protection Group Instructor Designation is an asset
· Ability to work a flexible schedule that also involves travel to Vancouver Island and the Okanagan.
· Ability to lift to 45 kilograms and push a wheelbarrow weighing up to 100 kilograms
