Job Description
Job Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate construction crew and site activities.
- Prepare, monitor, manage and update construction schedules.
- Forecast and review labour and equipment requirements.
- Collaborate with the project team on job cost forecasting.
- Supervise the requisition and maintenance of materials, site tools, company equipment and rental equipment.
- Manage site and equipment quality control and quality assurance standards, ensuring that defects are promptly rectified.
- Establish and maintain relations with subcontractors, suppliers, clients and consultants.
- Undertake site inspections to ensure the timely completion of projects.
- Prepare reports for the General Superintendent on schedules, labour, quality assurance and quality control.
- Establish and implement site safety procedures, and ensure all staff adhere to site safety protocols and government regulations.
- Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices.
- Conduct site trade meetings, coordinate safety compliance and site inspections
- Supervise the career progression of junior colleagues and provide coaching and mentoring where required.
- May consult on the preparation of the scopes of works in tender.
- May assist with organizing and managing temporary site facilities and security.
Employment Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in industrial, commercial, and institutional hazardous materials abatement and demolition.
- Level 2 Asbestos Safety Training certification.
- Strong ability to lead site crews of various sizes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to attend multiple work locations across the greater Victoria area.
- English language ability.
- Completion of secondary school.
Job Details:
- $40.00 to $45.00 per hour (commensurate with experience).
