Job Description

MGM Mechanical Ltd. is seeking a new Project Manager.

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the day-to-day planning, coordination, and delivery of construction projects. Working under the guidance of a Senior Project Manager or Director, the PM manages budgets, schedules, and subcontractor coordination to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with contract requirements. The PM plays an active role in client communication, issue resolution, and project reporting, while ensuring quality standards and company processes are upheld

1.      Project Start-Up

·       Participate in project start-up meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams to confirm project goals and deliverables.

·       Review contract documents, drawings, and specifications to identify scope requirements.

·       Prepare baseline project schedules, budgets, and procurement plans under the guidance of senior leadership.

·       Support subtrade tendering and supplier selection in collaboration with Estimating and Senior staff.

·       Assist in contract and subcontract review; escalate negotiation items to Senior Project Manager or Director.

2.      Day-to-Day Execution

·       Manage day-to-day project activities, monitoring progress against budget, schedule, and scope.

·       Lead coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors; prepare and distribute meeting minutes.

·       Administer RFIs, submittals, and change orders; ensure proper documentation and timely responses.

·       Track project costs, prepare progress billings, and forecast budgets with oversight from Senior staff.

·       Identify and address project risks at the site level, escalating significant issues to Senior leadership.

·       Collaborate with site teams to resolve technical or coordination issues.

·       Maintain positive client relationships through regular communication and updates.

3.      Project Close Out

·       Manage completion of deficiencies, commissioning, testing, inspections, and close out documents.

·       Support client handover and ensure close-out deliverables are met.

·       Assist in project performance reviews and lessons learned sessions.

·       Archive project documentation in line with company standards.

 

4.      Team & Professional Development

·       Collaborate with Coordinators and site staff, providing guidance on tasks and responsibilities.

·       Participate in training, process improvements, and best practice initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-6 years in mechanical construction (PM, coordinator, foreman, or field role)
  • Strong understanding of drawings, RFIs, submitals and change orders
  • Experience tracking budgets, schedules and job costs.
  • Familiar with commercial projects (TI, hospitality, healthcare, or multi-res)
  • Strong communication, organization and growth mindset.
