Labourer Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supports with general labour tasks, including digging holes, trenching, and other site activities as needed.

  • Measures, cuts, and sands wood or other materials under supervision.

  • Assists in site establishment and de-establishment.

  • Mixes, pours and spreads materials such as concrete and asphalt.

  • Removes adhesive, glue, and other residues from surfaces to prepare for installation or finishing.

  • Conducts dump runs. 

  • Performs thorough site cleaning, removing debris and organizing materials.

  • Assists with demolition activities.

  • Ensures all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.

  • Operates company vehicles to transport materials, tools, and equipment between multiple job sites, ensuring timely deliveries and supporting efficient site operations.

  • Loads, unloads, and moves lumber, tools, and other materials. 

  • Maintains accurate records of work performed, including time entries and daily logs.

  • Demonstrates professionalism in interactions with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

  • Performs other duties as needed.

You are a motivated and hardworking individual looking to kickstart or grow your career in carpentry. Whether you're a first-year apprentice, have completed a foundations program, or have experience as a labourer, you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work.

You take pride in your work, knowing that even the smallest tasks contribute to the bigger picture. You’re adaptable and open to working across multiple job sites throughout the day—one morning you might be digging trenches, and by the afternoon, you’re on a dump run or helping with demolition. 

You bring a positive attitude, work well with others, and contribute to a respectful, inclusive job site where everyone can succeed. You’re reliable, have a valid driver's license and listen, learn, and apply direction quickly. This is the perfect role for someone who enjoys variety, isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty, and wants to gain valuable hands-on experience in residential renovations.
