Junior Fire Alarm Programmer

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with experienced technciian to provide assistance on service inspections or system verifications when needed
  • Assist in all areas of work as required and assigned by the service co-ordinator or dept. managers
  • Complete repairs and replacement of electronic devices and components
  • Complete and submit all task related documentation in timely manner
  • Provide high level of customer service 
  • Ability to travel for work & after hours work as required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License & clean Driver's Abstract
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs and climb ladders and scaffolding

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience programming fire alarm panels (preferably Autocall, Simplex, and Kidde/Vigilant)
  • Factory training in programming fire alarm systems
  • Certified through ASTTBC for Fire Alarm Systems (AL)
  • CFAA Certificate, Red Seal Electrician Ticket, or applicable College degree/diploma
  • 1-3 years experience in the industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical background an asset
  • Knowledge of applicable provincial building, fire, ULC, and NFPA codes
  • Customer Service
