RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
The Industrial Painter is responsible for surface preparation, application of industrial coatings, and ultra high-quality finishing of rail vehicles and components in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. This role supports refurbishment, repair, and new build programs for passenger and freight rolling stock.
> Perform surface preparation activities including cleaning, degreasing, sanding, grinding, masking, and abrasive blasting as required.
> Inspect surfaces for defects, corrosion, or damage and report issues prior to coating application.
> Ensure surfaces meet required preparation standards before painting.
> Apply industrial paints and coatings using spray equipment, rollers, and brushes as required.
> Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
> Apply primers, intermediate coats, and topcoats to specified thickness and finish requirements.
> Perform touch-ups and repairs to existing coatings as required.
