Health & Safety Coordinator

Location: Surrey Office – 3435 194 St, Surrey, BC V3Z 1A5
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time | Onsite
Anticipated Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Salary: $70,000-$72,500 (based on experience)
Pay Schedule: Paid bi-weekly, every second Friday

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Health & Safety Coordinator to join our Health & Safety department. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and wants to contribute to meaningful, high-impact projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Support and promote a strong company-wide safety culture
  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and programs
  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety evaluations, documenting findings and corrective actions
  • Assist with site-specific safety plans such as Fall Protection, Emergency Response, and Hazard Assessments
  • Partner with project management to ensure consistent on-site safety practices
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with company safety standards
  • Manage workplace incidents and WCB claims, including modified work programs
  • Identify and address safety risks and trends to reduce incidents
  • Maintain COR certification and support internal audits
  • Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings and follow up on action items
  • Deliver in-house safety training, including orientations and Working at Heights
  • Record and analyze incidents, accidents, and safety statistics for continuous improvement
  • Advise on regulations, occupational health, hazardous materials, and client-specific safety requirements
  • Maintain employee clearances and third-party safety accreditations
  • Perform other duties as required

What You Bring to the Team

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Health and Safety Coordinator in the construction industry. Experience in roofing, waterproofing, cladding, and glazing is considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of Fall protection, boom lift, swing stage and chemical use is considered an asset
  • NCSO Designation or working towards obtaining designation
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft office, Excel, Word, power Point, Teams, Nuance
  • Working Knowledge of SiteDocs safety management program
  • Strong working knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations, as well as other federal, provincial, and local legislation governing health and safety compliance
  • In-depth understanding of the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program; COR Internal Auditor certification is required
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to active construction sites
