Position Overview: As Electrical Estimator at Osprey Electric, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, collaborating with customers, technicians, team members, and third-party partners to deliver top-notch electrical proposals/estimates to capture and land new business.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Perform accurate takes-offs and prepare professional-looking proposals/estimates that capture costs and risks. Review customer requirements for a proposal. 

·       Find creative ways to gain completive advantage and land work. Prepare Designs and scopes of work as appropriate. Get all jobs to the hard cost before markup.                                                                              

·       Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs

·       Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads

·       Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bids forms

·       Monitor and adjust contract expenditures

·       Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates

·       Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications

·       Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects.

·       Analyse data to help with decision-making and forecasting.

·       Attend client meetings to provide estimates and explain cost factors.

·       Work with the project managers and other team members to follow up on bids and budgets.

·       Ensure timely completion of estimates.

·       Understand the scope of work to bid.

·       Manage bid pricing from vendors and subcontractors.

·       Prepare cost analysis by recapitulating material, labour, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.

·       Where necessary, research and propose alternatives to improve cost efficiency.

**Wage starts at $64000 annually and based off experience 

Preferred Qualifications

Qualifications:

·       Proven experience as an estimator or similar role within the electrical industry.

·       Thorough understanding of project specifications, tendering processes, and contract documents.

·       Strong skills in numerical analysis and managing budgets

·       Impeccable problem-solving and analytical skills.

·       Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

·       Evidence of being able to design and construct electrical systems from custom homes to multi-residential developments.

·       Expertise in resource allocation, labour scheduling, and materials tracking against estimates

·       Advanced knowledge of construction/project management and estimating software such as Bluebeam and Accubid

·       Ability to interpret technical specifications from blueprints, drawings, and spec sheets.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
