We are looking for an Electrical Estimator to join our team in our Agassiz, Penticton or Kelowna office. The ideal candidate will lend their technical knowledge and expertise to support our Electrical & Controls team with a wide range of estimating tasks. The successful candidate will be a quick learner, exemplify our core values, and be a collaborative team player.  This is a great opportunity for a new electrical engineering graduate or a tradesperson looking for a new challenge in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports our electrical division in preparing preliminary estimates.
  • Assists in developing/assembling other project documentation.
  • Supports all aspects of bidding:
    • Searching leads for proposal and bid opportunities
    • Assisting in procuring new projects to bid.
    • Project site investigations.
    • Material and subcontractor solicitation.
    • Performing quantity take-offs from plans/drawings.
    • Estimating labour and equipment costs.
    • Creating bid proposals.
    • Ordering and managing bid bonds.
  • Performs tasks required to complete estimates/budgets.
  • Maintains a database of suppliers and historical project cost data.
  • Maintains a database of historical bid results.
  • Occasional travel to project sites throughout BC & Northern Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Seal Journeyperson, EIT, or Electrical Engineering degree
  • Wiring experience in schools, medical offices/facilities, community centers, prisons, or other institutions
  • Industrial wiring experience in water & wastewater facilities, hazardous locations, mining, substations, or other industrial wiring
  • Must know how to read and interpret electrical & architectural drawings & take scaled measurements and be skilled at reading & understanding project specifications
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Proficient in industry software programs – Microsoft Office, Teams, Bluebeam, Procore
  • Accounting & math skills
  • Technical reading and writing skills
  • FSR or Master certification a major asset
