After experiencing another record year, with further growth anticipated for 2025, Edgett Excavating is now seeking an Estimator to join their dynamic and growing team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the company’s success as they take on an increasing volume of projects in a rapidly expanding market on Vancouver Island. The Estimator will play a pivotal role in ensuring the company continues to deliver accurate, competitive and profitable project bids. This role will be involved in a variety of projects, from smaller developments to large-scale commercial and municipal infrastructure projects, all while working alongside an experienced team of professionals.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Estimator will be responsible for developing detailed cost estimates, creating takeoffs from provided drawings, collaborating with municipalities, owners, vendors and subcontractors and preparing comprehensive bids. As the company grows and takes on larger, more complex projects, the Estimator will be instrumental in supporting the organization’s commitment to delivering projects on time, within budget and in compliance with safety and environmental standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the underground utility and civil construction industry, a keen eye for detail and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Experience working with contracts adhering to the Master Municipal Contracts Documents (MMCD) is highly valued. They will have a background in Civil construction estimating, ideally with knowledge of municipal infrastructure installation. Strong communication skills, a collaborative attitude and a commitment to accuracy and timeliness are essential to success in this role.
This position is based in Cumberland, BC and offers a unique opportunity to join a well-established and growing company in the beautiful and rapidly growing Comox Valley.
In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected base salary range for this role is between $100,000 to $130,000 plus bonus. Consideration will be given to the candidate’s background and experience when establishing the final salary.
