Campbell Construction Ltd is a 60-year-old General Contractor/Construction Management firm located in Victoria, BC.
As the largest General Contractor on Vancouver Island, our workforce at times can employ up to 400 people specializing in Multi-Family Residential and Commercial Buildings.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Owner/President, you will play a key role in the continued success of Campbell Construction Ltd. This is an excellent career opportunity as a Senior Financial person in a well-established, expanding business. This is a permanent position ideally suited to someone with full-cycle accounting experience and is interested in long-term career placement in Victoria, BC.
Responsibilities
· Full cycle accounting including the review/preparation of monthly working papers, financial statements, deferred revenue calculations, and management reports including variance analysis.
· Ensure efficient execution of the A/R, A/P and payroll functions including remittances, bank reconciliations as well as GST, worksafe, EHT, T5018, and other remittances and returns.
· Preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.
· Preparation and regular monitoring of cash flow projections.
· Preparation and development of costing models and analysis in support of contract bidding on new construction and other initiatives.
· Lead the implementation of systems improvements and applications of technology.
· Design and maintain appropriate internal controls to safeguard company assets.
· Liaise with external accountants in preparation for annual audit engagement.
· Special projects and other duties as required.
Qualifications we require
· Extensive understanding of accounting.
· Extensive experience in Senior Financial Accounting role.
· Ability to motivate and supervise staff and liaise with other Managers to provide solutions.
· Highly motivated with a sense of urgency and an aptitude for process improvement.
· Strong analytical abilities and excellent attention to detail.
· Experience with Viewpoint operating systems or similar (Construction based software preferred)
· CPA designation preferred, but not a requirement.
