Job Description

Columbia Seal Ltd is a subcontracting construction company located in Central Burnaby. We provide building envelope and firestopping trade service. We perform in-house service providing below-grade waterproofing, traffic coatings, concrete restoration, sealants, firestopping and more. We provide service for new construction and building restoration. We have been in business for 30 years and are looking to grow our team. We like to provide quality work and do so in a safe manner.

Our office is located in Central Burnaby. We've got 8 team members in the office and 40+ in the field.

Now we are hiring for a Construction Foreperson to our team. The Construction Forepersons will assist the Project Managers in handling job site activities and supporting the field staff.

Your contributions

Plan, organize, lead and see out construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget
Supporting field staff by communicating details and overseeing application
Attend trade meetings, consultant meetings and other relevant site meetings as required by projects
Site review of applications to confirm conformance to details
Prepare site quality checklist and site progress reports
Confirm material inventory for upcoming jobs, order materials as needed with purchaser
Liase with Consultants, Engineers, Superintendents, and Customers
Promote a safe work culture
Coordinating deliveries of material and equipment with suppliers and vendors
Creating schedules for workers and subcontractors
Maintaining a daily log of construction site operations and identifying any gaps or areas that need to be addressed
Implementing techniques and strategies that are both efficient and cost-effective

Preferred Qualifications

Qualifications

Attention to detail and diligent
Knowledge or experience with building envelope, fire stopping, fire protection or similar
Familiar with Excel is an asset
Understanding project specifications (MasterFormat) and construction documents is an asset
Experience with BC Building Code and Fire Code is an asset
Diploma in Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology or similar is an asset
On-site supervisor and leadership experience required
Ability to create positive working relationships with a variety of people
Ability to read construction drawings
Ability to preserve and see projects through to completion
Ability to provide resources and support needed to make a project successful
Clean Class 5 license
