About the Job:

We are seeking a Concrete Formwork Detailer to join our construction team. In this role, the person will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed architectural drawings for concrete formwork and related structural elements. The person will work closely with project managers, foremen, site supervisors, and engineers to ensure field crews have clear, buildable drawings that align with project requirements. The ideal candidate will have a principal understanding of structural engineering concepts and systems, have solid technical abilities, be a skilled problem solver with attention to detail, and have strong communication skills

This position plays a key role in the successful execution of complex concrete structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Add and create layout drawings based on structural and architectural drawings for walls, slabs, columns, footings, and cores. Know how to read all disciplines.
  • Incorporate embed locations, block-outs, anchor bolts and other cast-in-place items.
  • Read and translate structural and architectural drawings into buildable formwork layouts.
  • Coordinate closely with field supervisors, foremen, and engineers to reflect site conditions.
  • Ensure all drawings follow company standards and construction best practices.
  • Revise and update drawings throughout project life cycle (create RFIs, Estimate CSF for Change orders, etc.).
  • Know how to operate and work with a total station for layout.
  • Participate in pre-construction and coordination meetings as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of experience preparing concrete formwork detailing (residential and commercial)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with Revit and Bluebeam.
  • Solid understanding of formwork systems such as Doka, Ulma, or Aluma.
  • Ability to interpret structural and architectural plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high pressure under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Diploma or certificate in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, or related drafting field.

Additional Considerations:

  • Field experience in concrete construction or formwork.
  • Familiar with Canadian building codes and construction documentation.
  • Experience using laser layout or point cloud data (nice to have)
