Job Description

1394584 B.C. LTD. O/A Vision Project Services is seeking a Carpenter to join our team in Invermere, BC.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Reporting to the Project Managers, the role will assist plan and execute specific projects 

  • Oversee all aspects of designated projects  

  • Ensure safety and efficiency of designated jobsites  

  • Communicate with clients as required  

  • Ensure that all processes and documentation procedures are followed and documented on specific job sites   

  • Working with the Project Manager to train staff on jobsites 

  • Working with the management team, ensure all company policies are adhered to 

  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools 

  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials 

  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems 

  • Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware 

  • Maintain, repair and renovate residential and commercial properties 

  • May supervise other construction workers 

Business Targets and Business Development  

  • Assist the management team to implement and focus on efficiency in all aspects of the operation  

  • Assist the management team to define and implement methods, training and accountability measures  

  • Understand and focus on improving margins and cost of goods sold  

  • Understanding and meeting financial targets and KPI’s 

  • Contribute new ideas, creativity and identify new business spurs and segments 

Preferred Qualifications

Requirements: 

Sites supervision (2 years +)  

Construction: 5 years (preferred)   

Proven experience as a carpenter or similar role 

Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and related machinery  

Strong knowledge building material products and their uses 

Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and sketches 

Excellent attention to detail and precision in measurements 

Good physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and equipment 

Ability to work independently or as part of a team
