Job Description

Support the development and implementation of an annual business development, marketing, and communications plan to achieve Acres’ strategic objectives. Provide leadership in enhancing Acres’ market presence and improving communications with stakeholders.

  • Participate in bi-weekly or scheduled meetings of the Business Development Department to review internal/external communication issues and needs; discuss business development leads/prospects, proposals, RFQ’s, marketing initiatives and community events.
  • Stays abreast of current developments & trends in all relevant industry / technical / professional knowledge areas, including project posting sites, on-line marketing, employee communication vehicles, social media, media monitoring, best practices in communications & public relations, etc.
  • Coordinate the proposal process for RFPs, RFQs and direct requests from initiation to contract award.
  • Review technical reports pertaining to rezoning, development variance permits, subdivision proposals and related planning material.
  • Understand construction budgets, controls, schedules and cost and quality controls.
  • Assist senior managers in preparing corporate proposals for tenders, bids, or negotiated projects.
  • Maintain and update corporate profiles, project information, key staff resumes, and client testimonials in a professional format.
  • Assist in creating a vertically integrated concept to completion development and building services solution for partners.
  • Build knowledge and understanding of our business development strategies and processes.
  • Build knowledge and understanding of our proposal preparation/process and oversee proposal timelines and schedule to ensure deadlines are met and the best possible document is submitted.
  • Maintain Acres’ website and social media platforms to enhance brand awareness and community engagement.
  • Develop, implement and publish compelling social media content that reflects Acres’ brand and showcases its projects and initiatives.
  • Coordinate site visits with Project Managers for regular project updates and social media content.
  • Track social media metrics and create monthly reports for review by the Business Development Manager and Culture & Engagement Manager.
  • Participate in the creation of an annual marketing plan focusing on targeted advertising, public relations, and promotional events.
  • Recommend marketing strategies and advertising venues to attract developers, building owners, and consultants.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manage promotional materials inventory and update corporate brochures for business development initiatives.
  • Represent Acres at industry and public functions to enhance company awareness and profile.
  • Create monthly internal and external newsletters.
  • Ensures the corporate values / standards of business conduct / human resource philosophy is understood, embraced and personally demonstrates them in daily interactions and relationships.
  • Demonstrates and practices a collaborative approach to communication as well as building strong working relationships between departments.
  • Participates as part of the employee team and seeks to build collaborative relationships with all other members of the employee team to facilitate orderly operation of the overall.
  • Provides Business Development Manager with intended vacation plans sufficiently in advance to ensure back-up is available for communication and marketing services.
  • Assist with various tasks and responsibilities as required by Acres Enterprises.

  • Creative thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in managing and strengthening brand identity across various channels and ensuring consistent company messaging.
  • Strong writing skills with experience in creating compelling content for websites, social media, and marketing material.
  • Experience with marketing software and tools (Adobe Creative Suite, CRM, and social media management platforms.
  • Construction experience is an asset.
