We are currently seeking an experienced Architectural Sheet Metal worker to join our team at Frenette Exteriors Ltd. Job Duties
- Read engineering and architectural drawings, sketches and work specifications to be performed, and lay out, measure and mark sheet metal according to drawings or templates.
- Install and repair sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes, including among other windows, soffits and other cladding systems.
- Operate light metalworking machines such as shears, brakes, punches, and drill presses.
- Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, welding, soldering and similar equipment.
- Load and unload construction materials from trucks to work areas.
- Ensure proper sealing and insulation to maintain energy efficiency and prevent water leakage.
- Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Collaborate with team members and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Safely operate hand and power tools and other equipment required for the installation process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including disposing of debris and packaging materials.
Employment Requirements
- Proven experience of at least 3 years of sheet metal work experience and cladding systems.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Punctual, scheduling flexibility, including the ability to work and travel on weekends, when necessary.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with team members and clients.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent physical endurance and capable of carrying 50 lbs.
- Ability and willingness to work at heights.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Capable of follow safety protocols at all times.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Job Details
- $36.60 per hour
- Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)
- 2 weeks of vacation per year or 4% of gross salary.
- Extended Health after three (3) months of full time work with the possibility of bonuses.
Location
- Various worksites in the Greater Victoria area on Vancouver Island, BC.
