Key Responsibilities

Performs tasks involving basic Carpentry and construction knowledge, as well as physical labour at construction projects.
Operates a variety of hand and power tools.
Measures, marks and records openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed.
Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
Erects and dissembles scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures.
Provides assistance to craft workers such as carpenters, plasterers and masons.

Qualifications and Experience

Previous experience as a construction labourer may be required.
Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
Knowledge of first aid and CPR preferred.
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner if certified
Must possess a valid Driver's License.
Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods and the tools required in various construction processes.
Strong working mechanical knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
Use of radio.
