           <title>Carpentry Supervisor</title>
           <description>The Union Steamship Marina is looking for a Carpentry Supervisor to support marina infrastructure, inlcuding marina maintenance and emergency repairs.  Position Title: Lead Carpenter &amp; Marina Maintenance SupervisorNOC: 72014 – Contractors and Supervisors, Carpentry TradesEmployer: Union Steamship Co. Marina, Bowen Island, BCWage: $70,720 per year, paid bi‐monthly by direct depositVacation: 10 paid working days per yearDuties &amp; Responsibilities ● Lead and supervise carpentry work related to marina infrastructure, including docks,floats, ramps, gangways, timber structures, and building components.● Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to plan carpentrytasks and determine materials, tools, and construction methods.● Estimate labour requirements, material quantities, and project timelines; preparematerial lists and coordinate procurement.● Assign carpentry tasks to crew members, provide hands‐on guidance, and ensurework meets structural, safety, and quality standards.● Oversee construction, installation, repair, and replacement of wooden and compositecomponents used in marine environments.● Train apprentices and junior carpenters in carpentry techniques, safe tool operation,maintenance procedures, and workplace safety.● Inspect completed carpentry work and ongoing projects to ensure accuracy,structural integrity, and compliance with building codes and safety regulations.● Coordinate with external contractors and trades for specialized work, ensuringintegration with carpentry‐related tasks.● Enforce Health &amp; Safety procedures, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure proper use ofPPE and tools.● Support broader marina maintenance activities when carpentry expertise is required,including emergency repairs and infrastructure upkeep.</description>
